The more I listen to For Crying Out Loud the more I think about the inspirations & explanations Scott made on the video for some of the songs. Though I (we) enjoy music a great deal I think there is often a disconnect between the listener & the songwriter. Knowing the orgin of the song enhances my enjoyment, stirs emotions & sometimes creates images I would otherwise never have. I would love this CD w/ out the video but w/ the video the songs have much a much deeper & personal meaning.
Too many years ago I heard on Powerline (remember Sunday rock radio?) that the singer for BTO had trouble holding notes for very long w/ out going flat so when the rehearsed Ain't Seen Nothing Yet he stuttered it so as not to hold the note. After so many takes they decided it added to the song & they kept it in for the master recording. I still get kick out that when I hear that song today.
Of course a side benefit of the video on the new CD is you also get to see what characters these guys are.
Just a spontaneous rant,
Mike |

| Totally agree....Scott's story about "I'm Right Here, My Love" totally changed that song for me. It was just another love song until I knew the story behind it. Now it touches me beyond words... |
